Now don't get me wrong, I love the idea of a Lions tour and am a wholehearted supporter of the concept. What I have had a bellyful of though are the Lions themselves, their coaches and the halfwit travelling media circus that they attract, like flies to a ripe turd.

The Lions have been miserable tourists with not a polite word to say about either hosts or the host country from the minute that they stepped off the plane. The have bitched and moaned and whined about anything and everything and to make matters worse, played some pretty fucking ordinary rugby to boot.

They have had golden opportunities to win both tests and choked on both occasions while their management have taken care to blame their losses on a wide range of external factors such as refereeing etc while doing their best convince their players that they were the better team and that they were somehow robbed by the dirty bully boy Saffers.

At least we know why they keep on losing - it because everyone around them keeps telling them that it OK, even heroic, to lose!

If the Lions return to SA, it will be in 2021 and it will be a completely different group of players and administrators and I will be the first to welcome them to the country because Lions tours are truly special things.

This time round though, its the tourists themselves and their entourage that have been pretty ordinary and when they do leave, I doubt they will be missed.

The bonus is that soon the Boks will once again be able to match themselves against the best in the world and the real rugby will begin.
