SR NZ Power Rankings - Week 6
After a topsy turvy weekend of footy these are the power rankings after week 6:
1 Crusaders
The Crusaders made a statement with an impressive victory in Hamilton. Owning the breakdown meant dominating this encounter, and the Crusaders showed again why they are favourites for the 2022 title. Relentless.
2 Chiefs
Just as the Chiefs were shaping up to be the frontrunners of the competition, they were abruptly reminded that they won't have it all their way this year. A thumb injury to Brodie Retallick will be concerning but the Chiefs should have the depth in that department to deal with a loss of his calibre.
3 Blues
The Aucklanders continue to win without really making a statement. Three wins in a row has this team ticking along but I'm sure Leon would like his side to put out a statement against Moana Pasifika tonight.
4 Moana Pasifika
You have to take your hats off to Moana Pasifika for getting the job done in their first win over a kiwi side. Danny Toala's try in golden point extra time will forever be etched into the history of this franchise and he would have been quietly stoked to get one over the franchise that failed to re-sign him. Let's see if they can continue their form and tip up the Blues.
5 Hurricanes
The Hurricanes drop down a spot after a lackluster performance against Moana Pasifika. The returning Perenara failed to add any value to a side that has been heavily disrupted over the last few weeks. The measure of this team will be how they bounce back against the Chiefs on Sunday in Wellington.
6 Highlanders
Another week and another loss for the southerners. With the Crusaders next in line the Highlanders really need to pull some tricks out of the bag if they are going to get a result on Friday.
